Why is filtration required?

Injecting these insoluble particles damages the veins and may lead to various complications, either local (abscesses…) or systemic (cardiac and pulmonary complications).
When they enter into the venous system, they damage it and can block capillaries or veins.

Filtering drugs prior to injecting it is a very common practice. Its main purpose is to remove insoluble particles and/or prevent the needle from clogging.
